The Teton Backcountry Alliance, in partnership with Yöstmark Backcountry Tours, is pleased to offer a series of Free Search Clinics at the TBCA Coal Creek Beacon Park, west of Teton Pass. These clinics are designed to improve avalanche beacon search skills and provide basics in avalanche rescue.
The clinics are NOT intended to replace a full avy training course, but will provide opportunities for individuals to brush up on their beacon search skills and management of an avalanche rescue. Clinics are capped at 15 participants maximum and online registration is available on a first-come first-serve basis.
Location of all clinics: Coal Creek Beacon Park – Coal Creek Trailhead along WY-22. PLEASE ARRIVE 15 MINUTES BEFORE CLINIC START TIME. Bring your own avalanche and ski equipment (beacon, probe, shovel, skis, skins, warm clothes, etc.). The Coal Creek parking lot can be congested. We recommend that individuals find ways to carpool from either Wilson or Victor. Stay tuned for information about other possible training sessions.
