Welcome to the Teton BackCountry Alliance

Mission

Teton Backcountry Alliance (TBCA) is a grassroots organization dedicated to Teton-area winter backcountry recreation and recreationist effects on our environment, wildlife, and other people. Our mission is to promote public safety, community, stewardship, and sustainable access for Teton-area winter backcountry users. TBCA addresses these goals through dialogue, public information, problem solving, and advocacy. Launched in 2017, TBCA is currently focused on maintaining winter backcountry use on Teton Pass, mitigating bighorn sheep-skier interactions, and educating stakeholders about proposed local ski area expansions.

Backcountry Snow and Safety Reports

Throughout the snow season, we will be calling local avalanche experts to learn what they are observing and what backcountry users should look for when venturing into the hills and posting the recording as the Backcountry Snow and Safety Report. The report is produced by the Teton Backcountry Alliance in cooperation with the Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center, Teton Search and Rescue, and KHOL radio.
